A clearer way to explore the Apex budget
Apex Budget Explorer is an independent civic data tool that turns published Town of Apex budget information into searchable tables, charts, department drilldowns, year-over-year comparisons, and a property tax receipt view.
What you can do with it
- Compare budgeted spending across fiscal years.
- Explore spending by fund, department, and line item.
- See which departments and line items drive changes over time.
- Estimate how a property tax bill is distributed across General Fund services.
- Download or inspect the underlying budget dataset.
Why it exists
Municipal budgets are public documents, but they can be hard to compare across years. This project restructures the budget into a consistent, browser-friendly dataset so residents can follow trends, ask better questions, and understand tradeoffs in local government spending.
What it is not
This site is not an official Town of Apex publication and should not replace adopted budget documents, annual financial reports, or other official records. It is a public-interest tool built from published budget materials and maintained for easier exploration.
